What we do

 

 

Aman House provides a safe haven for people  experiencing a crisis due to their substance misuse and mental health. Our supported living/crisis house services provides some time away from your everyday circumstances where recovery has space to truly begin.

We ensure that our highly skilled support workers offer sensitive and compassionate support whilst working in close collaboration with Change Grow Live, Kik-it and Chemycare. 

Crisis Housing Staff

 

Our staff provide one to one person-centered support to service users to develop their independent daily living skills in the community, whilst working closely along thier recovery pathway and ensuring high standards of support are maintained at all times.

 

Liasing and signposting to medical professionals:

Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses (CPN), support workers, carers and family members to co-ordinate and facilitate the support and recovery pathway where appropriate.

 

We support clients with employment, benefits and housing applications, as well as agree and update risk assessments. We also regularly review to ensure consistant support is provided by the team

How it works

 

We offer rooms/homes to vunerable people across Birmingham coupled with appropriate levels of support by our Housing officers and specialised Housing maintenance support

Our Housing officers maintain regular contact with out tenants visiting them in their homes, offering assistance with a range of issues

How we can help

 

Our staff assists with the following

 

  • maintaning the property in a secure and well-kept state
  • ensuring repair and maintenance issues are dealt with in a timely and thorough manner
  • making sure all equipment at the property is in good working order
  • identifying, monitoring and addressing any health and safety issues at the property and regular inspections
  • managing issues around nuisance, rubbish, vandalism and damage, thus generally ensuring that the property continues to be a quality living environment

 

Further support

 

  • supporting tenants with rent and financial matters, including discussing benefit needs
  • signposting tenants to other services and facilities in the locality that might enhance their life and general well-being
  • hearing and responding to tenants needs, views and suggestions
  • assisting with tenant involvement in planning, reviewing and improving Aman House services
  • Ongoing support to eventual independant living
  • Signposting to further services
  • Signposting to 12 step recovery groups
